In my previous novel there was one chapter that could have been a standalone story. This is not to say it did not relate to what came before or what came after. To the contrary: it captured the novel’s essence (I think, hope, and pray that it did at least). But this chapter (Chapter 2) felt like it could have been its own short story to me.
Chapter 8 of A Dragon for George does not feel like that.
So why do I mention it? Because part of it does.
See if you agree.
Here’s the synopsis:
Attempting to rescue a family of riverside campers from a vicious bear, George and Lorne-the-dragon get more (and also less) than they bargained for.
A Dragon For George is a reasonably family friendly novel about a twelve-year-old boy and his pet dragon, which may or may not be from another dimension.
WARNING: This episode, while family friendly, discusses some difficult issues, including death.
Narrative comedy, for lovers of laugh-out-loud literature (or “lololl’s” for short). A mix of novels (chapter by chapter), short stories, and theatrical shows to help you laugh along with the human condition.
